Anne Hathaway adopts the Barbiecore trend at the Valentino haute couture show

Invited to the front row of the Valentino haute couture fall-winter 2023 show, Anne Hathaway played the

card of the full pink look all in glitter.

Since she changed stylist from Law Roach to Erin Walsh, Anne Hathaway has traded in her coastal grandmother

clothes (sailboats, linen pants) for a bombshell wardrobe, especially when she walks the red carpet. The

key to her sartorial renaissance? The house of Valentino. Check out the lemon ensemble she wore to a Bulgari

dinner in Paris last month, or the typically Andy Sachs (her character in The Devil Wears Prada) minidress

she wore to promote her new show, WeCrashed. View more Why everyone loves Anne Hathaway today

Pink according to Valentino

For the presentation of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Fall/Winter 2023 haute couture collection in Rome, Anne Hathaway

embraced the Barbiecore trend in a full “Valentino Pink PP” look, courtesy of the house’s most recent RTW

collection. “I always want pink in my collections,” Pierpaolo Piccioli told Vogue, explaining his choice

for this electric color. “It’s a color that can be subverted better, because it already has a lot of meaning.

Its resonance has changed over the centuries: it was the color of powerful men, then it became girly… I

like to subvert that idea.” Adidas Pro Vision – Boys’ Grade School Donovan Mitchell Daniele Venturelli

Anne Hathaway, a fan among many others

For her part, Anne Hathaway leaned on the playful and fun side, wearing a sequin-covered Valentino minidress,

paired with a pair of Garavani platforms and a mini shoulder bag, to sit front row in the Piazza di Spagna.

(Keep in mind that being called a “bimbo” is now a compliment.) Other onlookers felt the influence of the

upcoming Barbie biopic, where Margot Robbie walks around all dressed up in pink. Florence Pugh, strolled

down the steps in a sheer Pink PP dress; Emily in Paris’ Ashley Park, wore a skin-tight look; and British

Vogue’s August 2022 cover star, Ariana Debose, chose an ultra-short style for the event.
