This fashionable designer shares her summer fashion wishlist
From the classic trench coat to the first summer dresses, here’s a look at all the fashion pieces on
this expert’s wishlist.
When asked about the link between fashion and Emma Rowen Rose, the answer is clear: it’s “a total relationship”.
A job, a passion, a need. This is how the young woman describes her relationship to the creative industry
that accompanies her every day. “It allows me to be me,” she simply admits.
For her eponymous brand, she imagines collections in her image: bathed in color, with impeccable lines
and cuts, like a pretty stylistic mishmash combining suits, dresses with shoulder pads and a few statement
pieces. She draws her inspiration from the art and poetry that surround her. “I love filmmakers like
Bunuel, Guitry, Almodovar or Demy among others, painters like Rossetti, Magritte or Miro, singers and
composers like Barbara, Legrand, Gainsbourg or Aznavour, many poets like Eluard, Luca or Verlaine. I
try to create a fashion worthy of their talent, while transcribing their works with my language. I take
a lot of inspiration from artists of the past (not only of course), but even if there is a certain nostalgia
in my creations or at least a real ode to the past, I try to translate them with my actuality and my
youth” she explains.
“Sometimes elegance is simply a head carriage, a dress, or just a well-spoken phrase.”

These influences can also be found in her wardrobe, sometimes 70’s, sometimes 80’s. Finally, it is the
elegance which is the most important. Sometimes elegance is simply a head carriage, a dress, or just
a well-spoken sentence. But contrary to what people say, I think it is a quality that can be found, learned,
discovered, left and returned, it is not simply innate.

What are Emma Rowen Rose’s fashion desires for this summer?
As the beautiful season is finally back, and with it the rising temperatures, the desire to renew our
wardrobe (or simply see it in a new light) is manifesting itself. For Emma Rowen Rose, it’s an opportunity
to wear her favorite pieces, invest in colorful accessories and dream of a pair of luxury sandals. Interview.
Vogue: What is the one piece that makes you feel 100% yourself? Emma Rowen Rose: Very honestly in any
Rowen Rose piece, quite obviously. But especially in suits, which I love because of their ambivalence,
between their seriousness, their masculinity and their femininity. Or a structured dress. I always need
structure, I admit it.
What are your fashion essentials that you’ll bring out in the summer?
Summery and colorful dresses

The one you’re relentlessly wearing right now? Because it’s still slightly cool in the spring, the Rowen
Rose signature men’s jacket in yellow, very summery but perfect for mid-season. I love wearing it as
a set with his miniskirt or with matching pants for a powerful total look. But I also easily mismatch
it, it’s very versatile.

filling my wishlists for this season. I’m more looking for accessories right now: a summer clutch in printed
fabric, maybe a Pasticcino Bag from Max Mara. And some original Prada strappy sandals, maybe from the 2022
collection as I love to look for treasures from past collections that made an impression on me when I was
younger! But I’m also looking at beige trench coats, more classic for mid-season.
