Why you should absolutely go and see the exhibition “Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1″ by Virgil Abloh”?

An exhibition that will give way to the launch of the “Air Force 1” sneakers born from the collaboration between

Louis Vuitton and Nike.

Flashback: in June 2021, on the catwalk of the spring-summer 2022 show, Louis Vuitton unveiled new collector sneakers

designed by Virgil Abloh in collaboration with Nike. Models that, just walked the catwalk, have fueled the fever

of sneaker collectors. Good news, these upgraded Air Force 1 will be available for purchase from next June on digital

platforms in no less than nine color variations. And because the duo doesn’t do anything by halves, they will be

exhibiting, from May 20 to 31, the forty-seven pairs of Air Force 1 initially made during the Louis Vuitton and

Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh New York exhibition. Everything you need to know is here. View more Louis Vuitton and Nike unveil a new collector sneaker designed by Virgil Abloh

The appointment is made next June to try to get your hands on the new Air Force 1 that may be close to (not

to say reach) the sell-out (in a few minutes)! Available for pre-order and exclusive to members of the Louis

Vuitton community, these objects of desire are composed of versions with mid-high and low uppers, a classic

white leather model and a black suede one, both branded with the emblematic monogram of the house. Also planned

are two-tone variations (white/green, white/red, white/blue) as an ode to the colors of the rainbow dear to

Virgil Abloh. Moreover, one of the pairs of sneakers is a direct tribute to the designer who died in November

2021: a golden sneaker, a tribute to his very first show for Louis Vuitton. IMPRESSIONBOOT Courtesy of Louis Vuitton

One question remains: why did you choose to reinterpret the Air Force 1? More than an iconic model of the sportswear

brand, for Virgil Abloh, who elevates it to the rank of a work of art, it is a true emblem for a whole generation.

As he confided in 2021: “My interpretation of the ‘Air Force 1’ emphasizes the comma. This icon was created long before

me, but it took forty years for it to become part of the t-shirt and suit”. Boys’ Preschool White/White/Black Courtesy of Louis Vuitton

Visitors will be able to immerse themselves completely as the showcase will be sublimated with the orange color

so cherished by Virgil Abloh, as well as a mix and match of the two brands’ emblems. They will be able to walk

through a giant version of the logo covered in mirrors, there will also be 3D prints evoking the sculptures

designed by the designer for Louis Vuitton, as well as a cabin, which will highlight one of the favorite themes

of the designer: the vision of the world through the eyes of a child. An exhibition not to be missed!
