Dior: what to remember from the fall-winter 2021-2022 haute couture show

This Monday, July 5, the first day of the Fashion Week haute couture fall-winter 2021-2022 was in full swing,

punctuated by the Dior show at the Rodin Museum. Tactile materiality, back to basics and contemporary works…

Everything you need to know is here.

Since her arrival at the head of creation of the house of Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri has never ceased to merge

fashion and art, calling upon many contemporary artists while punctuating her creations with historical references

in a resolutely feminist commitment.

The latest coup d’├ęclat? The fall-winter 2021-2022 haute couture show, which was presented this Monday, July

5 at the Rodin Museum in Paris. For this one, the designer called on Eva Jospin, a French artist, who signed

for the occasion the work Chambre de soie, a case for this collection with impeccable know-how.

Back to the basics of couture

After having presented its previous collections digitally throughout this particular parenthesis, the house

of Dior returns to the fundamentals of couture with a fashion show with a tactile materiality where the play

of textures remains necessary to a virtual retranscription. Pleated sunbursts, airy drapes, and comforting knits

with graphic charm rub shoulders with a plethora of embroidered pieces, a true red thread of this haute couture

  • Art, once again at the heart of Dior’s message

A bridge between the real and the virtual, embroidery was also the main element of the set, a colorful case imagined

by the artist Eva Jospin and named Chambre de soie. Far from its simple ornamental function, embroidery becomes

one of the essential creative elements to understand the senses and also testifies to the transmission of a know-how

necessary for creation, as evidenced by the book Threads of Life, by the textile artist and curator Clare Hunter,

who notably inspired Maria Grazia Chiuri for this collection.  http://www.bsaa.edu.ru/bitrix/rk.php?goto=http://pangaea-sendai.com

The legacy of Monsieur Dior

Faithful to its history, the house of Dior once again multiplies the nods to its founder, reinterpreting the signature

codes that make its essence. From the unavoidable Bar jacket, the ultimate New Look piece, to the powdery shades

dear to Monsieur Dior, via floral details… The highlight of the show? An embroidered mint green dress outlining

a bride as contemporary as she is traditional.
