Emily Ratajkowski, Dua Lipa… They are all fans of this ultra-fashionable bag signed JW Anderson
The Bumper Bag is from the “psychologically explosive” spring-summer 2022 collection of JW Anderson.
Among the fans: Dua Lipa, Emily Ratajkowski, or Shygirl.
We know it now, Dua Lipa is the number 1 fan of Jonathan Anderson. And for good reason: we owe the designer
a good number of It-bags of the moment. In addition to the Flamenco and the Puzzle (his flagship leather
bags for the Spanish house Loewe), he also designed the Tote Belt for the accessories line that bears
his name. But it is especially his latest model, the Bumper, which is currently popular with the stars,
from Shygirl to Emily Ratajkowski. A piece that has little to do with other It-bags, from the spring-summer
2022 collection of JW Anderson that he defines as “psychologically explosive”, bombastic in English.

That bag with such delicious curves may not have caught your eye when you first saw Juergen Teller’s bare
chest. For the lookbook, the photographer turned the lens on himself, posing in little black briefs in
a tire garage. If you look again at the models Mona Tougaard and Abby Champion photographed for the collection,
you’ll notice the Bumper shoulder bag, available in a half-moon (Bumper Moon) or classic baguette format,
in all its cartoonish glory. In addition to its soft and angular volumes, it’s the color combinations
that give this fun and offbeat look to the essential accessory.

All colors for all tastes
“It’s hard to choose among these wacky colors, but I fell for the blue and orange model (and my bank account
too), candy mix effect,” confided Laura Hawkins of British Vogue. “I love the slightly wacky proportions,
the pouty contours and the thin strap that fits perfectly under the shoulder.”

Emily Ratajkowski, Dua Lipa, Ella Emhoff, Mia Regan and Tommy Dorfman have also given in to its generous shapes,
which the designer likens to variegated floaties and stuffed travel pillows. “I like the idea of blowing up
what I shouldn’t blow up,” he told us at the launch of his collection in September. “I try to mix what fits
and what doesn’t. To seek subtlety in letting go.”
“I don’t want to bend to convention, I want nothing to make sense” – Jonathan Anderson
Today, he continues his mission to “deconstruct everything, in order to reconstruct everything” in his Girls
gone wild collection immortalized by Juergen Teller. “I don’t want to bend to conventions, I want nothing
to make sense,” he said at his brand’s Fall/Winter 2022-2023 men’s show, which included even more Bumper (enjoy
