Exclusive: backstage at the Miu Miu fashion show at 1200 meters

This time, no Zoom show or 3D animation. For fashion month, Miu Miu triumphs with a fall-winter 2021-2022 show live

from the snowy peaks of Cortina, in the Dolomites.

The eyes that laugh at Miuccia Prada’s fashion shows usually look for inspiration as much for the scenography as

for the style (we will remember the extraordinary sky blue floor of Prada’s fall-winter 2021-2022 show). But what

about our post-pandemic travel desires? As Vogue exclusively reveals, Miuccia Prada’s visionary eye has brilliantly

captured it. https://splice.com/formatbrick52

Welcome to the “Miu Miu Mountain Club,” the title of Miu Miu’s fall/winter 2021-2022 show, which sees a

tight group of models marching from Cortina (officially Italy’s hottest ski resort of the moment) for a

spectacular moment, set against a backdrop of snowy peaks and social distancing.  http://testtechmowi1971.unblog.fr/2022/04/17/cq-air-jordan-4-retro-winter-loyal-bluewhite-habanero-red-black-man/

Let’s start with a simple observation: this time, the parade was not on Zoom or in 3D. Miu Miu’s 150-meter

long catwalk (a recycled wooden runway) snaked through the immaculate snow. And as all the lovers of high

summits will confirm, Miuccia Prada knew how to seize the aesthetics of the high mountain with brio. Faux

fur yeti boots, crystal amulet necklace, mesh choker and panoramic backdrop, all projected in the living room

of a virtual front row featuring, among others, Emma Corrin (freshly awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actress),

Simone Ashley, the star of season two of Bridgerton, or supermodel Du Juan.

Before the unveiling of the collection, the invitation sent was presented as a clue to be deciphered,

an enigma evoking the location of the fashion show. It was an engraved wooden chest containing an expedition

flag. “It kind of evokes the kind of object you might find in the Boy Scouts,” Emma Corrin had observed

as she opened her invitation.

She couldn’t have meant it better. For her Fall/Winter 2021-2022 exercise, Miuccia Prada didn’t just make

us feel like we wanted to travel or escape. This collection manages to fork the romanticism we associate

with the Miu Miu brand to a decidedly more practical path. The adventurous spirit of the creative team’s

expedition translates into loose-fitting snowboard pants or quilted, hard-wearing, oversized jackets:

creations that resonate with the spirit of the new era that is upon us.  kasparormeston Manuel Sinopoli

Many first came to appreciate sporty, utilitarian clothing last year, when hiking boots and cycling shorts became

our go-to passports for getting out of the house and into the great outdoors. As we slowly prepare to emerge from

a stuffy year, the show offered a breath of fresh air. Miu Miu’s models gave a lesson in elegance in an extreme environment,

while reminding us to take care of the ties that bind us to our loved ones, the same ones that helped us endure the

past year, as a salutary reminder of the power of the survival instinct within us.
