In Cannes, top Alton Mason revives a star trend of the 2000s

A y2k trend that has not finished seducing fashion lovers this summer.

More than ever this year, the style of the 2000s is back on the fashion scene: peach skin tracksuit (Paris Hilton,

a fan of Juicy Couture models, has even created her own line of jogging suits), low waist pants, butterfly pattern

… But it is the Trucker cap, another iconic accessory of the “tacky-chic” period, which seduced the young Alton Mason,

who was present in Cannes to present, out of competition, Elvis, by the great Baz Luhrmann, in which he plays the role

of Little Richard.

A cap signed Ed Hardy

Recognizable by its graphic front, often very kitsch, and the mesh back, the Trucker cap was all the rage in the

2000s. We remember (again) Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in their reality TV show, The Simple Life, who worshipped

this summer accessory. What you may not know is that Justin Timberlake started this trend after being spotted wearing

a Von Dutch cap at the Grammy Awards afterparty in 2022. After that, many celebrities like Ashton Kutcher, or Gwen

Stefani have appropriated the Trucker cap, before it comes back in force this year, endorsed this time by fashionable

girls like Hailey Bieber and Rihanna. On the other hand, no Von Dutch for Alton Mason. He preferred a model Ed Hardy,

brand of the same style founded by Christian Audigier in 2022.
