Long skirts, vests and gladiator sandals: the bohemian trend is back!

After the come back of the Y2K fashion, it’s now the bohemian trend that takes over your wardrobe. Between

shells and patchwork,

What is the bohemian trend? Picture this: Kate Moss in a suede vest, fringed moccasin boots, loose shirt and

micro denim shorts; Sienna Miller in a ruffled miniskirt, studded leather belt and tank top; Mischa Barton

in a patchwork crochet evening dress.

  3. The must-haves

You probably remember these most mythical statement pieces: layered vests, floral dresses, embellished

belts worn as shoulder straps, bangs plastered all over the clothes and, for those who could afford to pay

full price, a Chloe Paddington bag.

Like many other 1980s trends that are making a comeback, hello cargo pants and XXL sunglasses, the bohemian

style is back from the archives. Here is the Boho 2.0. Simone Ashley, recently seen in a patchwork halter

top by Conner Ives and a matching scarf, is a prime example, as is Olivia Wilde in a floral maxi dress and

fur overcoat. Bella Hadid, too, never disappoints when it comes to reviving past trends, wearing a pleated

nano-mini skirt, ruched tank top, perspex heeled mules and a vintage Prada bag.

Runway trends

The runways were also awash with images from the past. At Alberta Ferretti, macramé dresses ended in fringe,

and at Altuzarra, supermodel Gigi Hadid was dressed in head-to-toe tie-dye. At Chloe, braids and shells

made the Boho heart beat faster.

Jewelry, too, is not left out. According to Daniel Christopher Jewellery, searches for anklets, scarf earrings

and toe rings (yes, really) have all increased by 49% in the last three months. View more 20 long dresses on sale to model the bohemian trend

But, before you shudder with fear as you recall all the randomly assembled outfits, know that this revival

is very careful. It’s thanks to social media and archival celebrity photos, but the majority of the revival’s

trends require less experimentation than before (thank you, Sienna Miller, for doing the work) and follow

Y2K style guidelines. So, if you’re ogling your Minnetonka boots, it’s time to put them back on. Add a mood

ring and a leather jacket and you’re ready to shine.
