Trompe-l’oeil prints, exposed zippers, Shocking pink… The house Schiaparelli, founded in 1927 by Elsa Schiaparelli,

highlights a whimsical and inventive fashion, resolutely modern. Closed in 1954, the French house will rise

from the ashes in July 2022 with the reopening of the Place Vendôme boutique and the appointment of Marco

Zanini as style director in September 2022. The Milanese designer, who presented his first haute couture

collection a year later, will design two collections before leaving Schiaparelli in November 2022. On Tuesday,

April 28, 2022, the house announced the appointment of Bertrand Guyon as style director. A graduate of the

Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, the 50-year-old French designer started his career

at Givenchy where he was the first haute couture assistant to Hubert de Givenchy, then collaborated with

John Galliano, who became artistic director of the house in 1995, and finally with Alexander McQueen, who

succeeded John Galliano in 1996. A year later, Bertrand Guyon joined Christian Lacroix’s haute couture studio

where he honed his sense of experimentation with materials before becoming design director at Valentino in

2022. This Tuesday, April 28, 2022, Bertrand Guyon becomes the style director for the haute couture collections

of the house of Schiaparelli. His first collection will be presented in Paris in July 2022 during the haute

couture week.
