Cottweiler and Gabriela Hearst win the Woolmark International 2022-2022 Prize

Monday, January 23, 2022 was held in Paris at the Palais de Tokyo the final of the edition 2022-2022 of

the Woolmark International Prize, rewarding two designers for their collections for women and men. A prize

. At the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Woolmark International prize was awarded to two designers, selected from 75

designers from 60 different countries, reduced to 6 finalists selected in each category. Organized for the first time

in 1953 on an initiative of the International Wool Secretariat, this award supports designers who continue to demonstrate

the benefits of merino wool in their collections. The designer Gabriela Hearst won a prize in the women’s category,

thanks to a jury composed of Victoria Beckham, Bouchra Jarrar, Lou Doillon and Miroslava Duma, among others. The Cottweiler

label was awarded in the men’s category, selected by a jury composed of Jefferson Hack, co-founder of Dazed&Confused,

Olivier Lalanne, deputy editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris and Shayne Oliver, artistic director of Hood by Air. Gabriela

Hearst and Cottweiler each receive an award of 100,000 Australian dollars (about 70,000 euros) to develop their business,

as well as the support of an industry mentor and Woolmark certification for their winning collection. Gabriela Hearst’s

winning Woolmark collection brings to life elegant silhouettes with a streetwear twist; Coach Transatlantic Cabin Bag, as evidenced by one of her silhouettes consisting of an evening dress worn with a baseball jacket:
