Galeries Lafayette and Stella McCartney commit to sustainable fashion

The event is the culmination of the Go for Good manifesto, signed in May by Galeries Lafayette. Aimed at promoting conscious and respectful fashion, the department

store will present;, from August 29 to October 10, a wide selection of eco-responsible brands, including a capsule collection by the

event’s godmother, Stella McCartney, a pioneer of green fashion.

In May, the Parisian department store announced the launch of its Go For Good program, . Conceived as an impetus, if not a transition to a sustainable model, Galeries Lafayette is already

boasting about its progress: waste reduction, pay parity and the integration of an in-store repair service; . The initiative is a long-term one and, in addition to the structural changes that have been initiated – the promise

is a good one, but it must be implemented beyond the effects of the announcement – the Haussmann store intends to promote;, according to strict specifications, brands that respect the values promoted by the Go for Good manifesto.

The focus will be on the materials used, the production conditions and, it must be said, the aesthetics of the

pieces. Stella McCartney, who has designed an exclusive capsule collection, says she has always worked on her clothes with timeless lines and ethical materials – no fur or leather

– so as not to compromise on any of her principles; these are the same principles that Galeries Lafayette

intends to defend today.
