Gucci to present its 2022 cruise collection in Florence

On May 29, Gucci will present its 2022 cruise collection in Florence, in the Palatine Gallery of the Pitti Palace.

This is a tribute to the Italian fashion house’s hometown:, as it embarks on a cultural project to restore the historic Uffizi Gallery in Florence:

. In 2022, Alessandro Michele presented his first cruise collection as Artistic Director of Gucci Collections in the

heart of Manhattan, in the Chelsea art district. A year later, the silhouettes hit the pavement of Westminster Abbey

in London. Today, the designer chooses to return to Gucci’s homeland to present his 2022 cruise show in Italy, in

Florence. The designer will present his cruise line on May 29, 2022 in the Palatine Gallery of the Pitti Palace, which

will host a fashion show for the first time; vixipisa1979 . This is an emblematic choice for the brand, as Gucci has chosen to sponsor the ‘Primavera di Boboli’

cultural project, which aims to restore and enhance the Boboli Gardens in the city of Florence;, organized under the patronage of the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism, and funded

by the Municipality of Florence, in partnership with the Uffizi Gallery. Gucci will donate 2 million euros

to the Uffizi Gallery over three years to help renovate a symbol of the Florentine city. This alliance demonstrates

Alessandro Michele’s fascination with the city of his birth and the inspiration behind his collection s, as Gucci CEO Marco Bizzzari points out “(…) it is particularly meaningful to hold the show for the next

Cruise Collection in the heart of Florence, especially because Alessandro is constantly inspired by the city’s Renaissance

masterpieces. A sentiment shared by Dario Nardella, Mayor of Florence, who commented, “It is a true honor

for Florence that an almost century-old Florentine brand, an ambassador of creativity, quality and Italian

craftsmanship, has chosen the city of its roots to organize such a beautiful cultural project highlighting our artistic and natural heritage.”
