The CFDA Fashion Awards – Council of Fashion Designers of America – honors the best American designers every year.
At the same time, the American institution has created, in collaboration with Vogue, the Fashion Fund. For nine
years, this prize dedicated to young fashion designers has already revealed and helped many talents, such as Proenza
Schouler, Alexander Wang or Rodarte. The winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund is awarded a $400,000 grant and
a mentoring program with top fashion industry leaders. The second and third place designers receive $150,000 each.
On November 6 in New York City, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund 2022 awarded its first prize to Telfar Clemens for
his eponymous unisex brand erected in 2022, which he describes as “horizontal, democratic, universal.” Second place
went to Becca McCharen-Tran, founder of the swimwear label Chromat. Finally, the French woman based in Venice Beach,
Ahlem Manai-Platt, was offered the third place with her brand of glasses made in France created in 2022.
